OUR STANDARDS


E&I Solutions WA operates to the highest OHS standards and gained OHS third-party accreditation to NZ/AS 4801 in 2018 through Standards Australia.

The Plan for Safe Working Practices is not to be read in conjunction with but not limited to the following documents:

  •   The Electricity Act 1945; and

  •   The Electricity Regulations 1947; and

  •   The Electricity (Licensing) Regulations 1991 (the Regulations)

  •   The Occupational Safety and Health Act 1984

  •   The Occupational Safety and Health Regulations 1996 – Division 6

  •   The Workers Compensation and Injury Management Act 1981 

And for work done on mines:

  •  The Mines Safety and Inspection Act 1994

  •   The Mines Safety and Inspection Regulations 1995 – Division 5

When implementing this plan consideration and application will be given by E&I Solutions WA to the following reference materials:

  •  AS/NZS 3000:2018, published by the Australian Standards Association;

  •  AS/NZS 3008.1.1.2017, published by the Australian Standards Association;

  •  AS/NZS 3017-2007, Electrical Installations – Testing Guidelines, published by the Australian Standards Association;

  • AS/NZS 60079 Australian Hazardous Area Standards, published by the Australian Standards Association;

  •  “WA Electrical Requirements” published by the energy Safety Division of the Department of Commerce (Energy Safety);

  •  “Code of Practice – Safe Low Voltage Work Practices by Electricians”, published by the Energy Safety – April 2008;

  •  “Checking and Testing Electrical Installing Work”, produced by Energy Safety;

  •  “Safety Guidelines for Electrical Workers”, produced by the Energy Safety.

Reference is made to an Australian Standards Association Standard known as “AS/NZS” 3000:2018”. This means AS/NZS 3000:2018 and the amendments to the 2018 edition including all subsequent amendments. If a new edition of this standard is published, the new standard applies.

Reference is also made to the “WA Electrical Requirements”. This means the “WA Electrical Requirements” and any amendments, changes or bulletins that may be issued from time to time by the Energy Safety Division of the Department of Commerce.

E&I Solutions WA maintains copies of all these documents at its main office. It encourages its electrical workers and any subcontractors to refer and apply the content of these documents to any electrical work undertaken under the control of E&I Solutions WA.
